An electrolytic capacitor is a type of capacitor that uses an electrolyte to achieve a larger capacitance than other capacitor types. An electrolyte is a liquid or gel containing a high concentration of ions. 
Almost all electrolytic capacitors are polarized, which means that the voltage on the positive terminal must always be greater than the voltage on the negative terminal. 
The benefit of large capacitance in electrolytic capacitors comes with several drawbacks as well. 
Among these drawbacks are large leakage currents, value tolerances, equivalent series resistance and a limited lifetime. 

Electrolytic capacitors can be either wet-electrolyte or solid polymer. They are commonly made of tantalum or aluminum, although other materials may be used. 
Super capacitors are a special subtype of electrolytic capacitors, also called double-layer electrolytic capacitors, with capacitances of hundreds and thousands of farads.  

This article will be based on aluminum electrolytic capacitors. These have a typical capacitance between 1µF to 47µF and an operating voltage of up to a few hundred volts DC. 
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are found in many applications such as power supplies, computer motherboards and many domestic appliances. Since they are polarized, they may be used only in DC circuits.

Film capacitors, plastic film capacitors, film dielectric capacitors, generically called “Film Capacitors”, are electrical capacitors with an insulating plastic film as the dielectric, sometimes combined with paper as carrier of the electrodes. 

The dielectric films, depending on the desired dielectric strength, are drawn in a special process to an extremely thin thickness, and are then provided with electrodes. 
The electrodes of film capacitors may be metallized aluminum or zinc applied directly to the surface of the plastic film, or a separate metallic foil overlying the film. 

Two of these conductive layers are wound into a cylinder shaped winding, usually flattened to reduce mounting space requirements on a printed circuit board, or layered as multiple single layers stacked together, to form a capacitor body.

In order to shorten the delivery time for film capacitors, we begin to change the oil marking to laser making for JFV X2 Metallized Polypropylene Film Capacitors.

JFJ Series is constructed of metallized polyester film (stacked technology) with radial leads of tinned wire. 
Radial leads are electrically welded to the contact metal layer on the ends of the capacitor winding. The capacitor is encapsulated with thermosetting resin in a box of material meeting the UL 94V–0 requirements. 

Typical applications include high performance, high temperature, blocking, coupling, decoupling for a signal from DC to high frequency, pulse, logic and timing circuit, lamp capacitor for electronic compact lamps, inverter for LCD monitors, automotive DC motor suppression. 

Voltage range 50 – 630 VDC , Capacitance range: 0.001 – 1.0 µF, Lead spacing: 5 mm, Capacitance tolerance: ±20%, ±10% standard, ±5% on request.RoHS Compliant and lead-free terminations,Tape and reel packaging.
